Eclectic Prog
France
LA ROSSA were a progressive rock band from Touluse, France, whose line-up was containing both French and German musicians. They were founded in 1980. The "German" part of the line-up (vocalist Benki and keyboard player Wolfgang Höller) came from the band WISH. The band recorder few demos in the 1980-1983 period together with Marc Neves on drums. The bassist Dino De Rossi and two guitarists (Robert Liccardi and Jean Pierre Baile) joined the band later, and the band released their debut (and only album) shortly after.
Wolfgang Höller approved the re-releasing of the album in 1992 on CD by Musea Records. The CD contains three tracks recorded during their demo period.
Their eclectic music was influenced by VAN DER GRAAF GENERATOR, PETER HAMMILL, YES, GENTLE GIANT and ELP, CIRCUS (Switzerland), as well as some classical composers, such is Bela Bartok.
