Neo-Prog
Poland
GRENDEL is a Neo-prog band hailing from Poland. The band was formed in 2002 by guitarist/singer Sebastian Kowgier, keyboardist Ula Swider, bass player Czarek Swider and drummer Wojciech Bilinski. It took them six long years to release their first full-length album "The Helpless" in 2008. The album was a concept album showing man's helplessness at various stages of life. The album mixes neo-prog with some pop and metal stylings.
Prior to the release of their first full-length album, the band produced "Demo 2007" which included several songs which would end up on The Helpless plus a non-album song. The band's influences include MARILLION, RIVERSIDE and PORCUPINE TREE, among others.
