KAMELOT
Progressive Metal
USA
KAMELOT is a band hard to label. They don't belong to the cheesy power metal world (Dragons, Swords, Warriors etc) but they aren't as progressive as SYMPHONY X or SHADOW GALLERY. Their style would be defined as: Melodic Metal with Progressive elements.
Founded in 1993 by guitarist Thomas Youngblood and drummer Richard Warner, KAMELOT made their first album in 1996 and a second album in 1997. In 1998 the line-up changed: Warner was replaced by Casey Grillo and Mark Vanderbilt was replaced by singer extraordinary Roy Khan (Ex-CONCEPTION). The next year keyboardist David Pavlic leave the band, however KAMELOT began a new era.
They made an amazing album full of folk touches called "The Fourth Legacy" followed by an European tour. Only a few months later KAMELOT reached the peak with "Karma" which is their best album so far.
